2007 L’Œuvre Geek Notes
Vintage:
2007 is a vintage that is developing very nicely. It started with plenty of rain and then a long dry spell allowed the fruit to ripen evenly. A break in the temperature allowed the grape flavors to mature while keeping the sugar in check. This is turning out to be a beautiful vintage for aging wines.
Vineyard:
L’Oeuvre is a blend of barrels selected from our various vineyards located throughout the Northwest. The vineyards are all contracted by the acre which allows the winemakers to keep yields low and flavors high resulting in a true L’Oeuvre or work of art.
Winemaking:
44% Cabernet Sauvignon from Lawrence and Dionysus vineyards, Washington
44% Merlot, Coyote Canyon Vineyard, Washington
6% Malbec, Wood River Vineyard, Snake River Valley, Idaho
6% Cabernet Franc, Weinbau Vineyard, Washington
Aged for 20 months in mostly new oak – 1/2 French and 1/2 American.
