2010 Primitivo Geek Notes

Vintage:

2010 was the coolest vintage on record since 1999.  However the vines were able to catch up thanks to a warm July and August and a mild fall.  Low crop loads helped to bring the fruit to maturity and potential.

Vineyard:

Coyote Canyon Vineyard, Horse Heaven Hills, Washington

Winemaking:

Hand punched during the fermentation which lasted about 14 days. Aged in neutral French and American barrels for 14 months to maintain the unique flavors of the Primitivo grape.
